Gay wedding at LGBTQ friendly wedding venue ‘Weddings in the Forest’ in Rosliston.

Lauren and Charlotte celebrated their big gay wedding at LGBTQ friendly wedding venue The Glade at Rosliston Forestry Centre in August 2023. Not only is this Derbyshire wedding venue situated in an actual forest, it also comes with a number of forest lodges on site, perfect for two bridal parties to get ready on their wedding morning.

Lauren’s wedding make up artist was the lovely Glam by Becky, and Charlotte’s make up artist’s was provided by Brooke Ferrier. Their hair was provided by Brazilian wedding hairstylist Lucas Freitas.

A woodland wedding venue in Derbyshire.

This lovely couple married at the beautiful wooden pagoda, followed by their wedding reception in the marquee tent onsite that Lauren and Charlotte made their own. The weather was a little bit of a challenge, but myself and their Burton on Trent based wedding photographer, Vikki Asker (a lovely human!), made the most of the patches of dry weather to get some gorgeous couples shots in the surrounding woodlands.

Looking for a lesbian wedding videographer and inclusive LGBTQ wedding videography?

There’s nothing I love more than supporting my fellow gays and queers on their wedding day. And when I say nothing, I mean it!

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and as someone who got married only last year, I fully understand how difficult it can be to find wedding suppliers who are genuinely inclusive in their approach. Yes, they may have the equality badge on their webite, but it often felt to me and my now wife that these cis-het suppliers really only wanted to take our money, and often they used gendered language throughout their websites anyway. We decided to immediately discount any wedding supplier that used the words ‘bride and groom’ or ‘mr and mrs’, and unfortunately for us, we accidentally chose a wedding supplier that we had to educate just prior to our wedding, having trans and non-binary guests attending. It was a stress we could have done without in the run up to our wedding day! And frustrating that being inclusive is still not a standard in this industry. This is something that is extremely important to me as a gay wedding videographer, and my wife Lisa who decided to become a queer wedding celebrant after our experiences too!

I pride myself in my inclusive approach and make no assumptions about either of you, your guests, your pronouns, what you’re wearing, or how you want to celebrate! As far as I am concerned, your day is as unique as you are.

If this sounds unbelievably refreshing to you, tell me a little more about your wedding plans, and check my availability below!
