Nicola and Ian: Bisley Yurt wedding video with homegrown flowers
.. and a Weybridge Registry Office wedding ceremony.
Nicola and Ian’s day began at home surrounded by family and friends. Myself and my lovely assistant Lisa were welcomed in to the fold with open arms to Nicola’s bridesmaid’s house where the atmosphere was relaxed, chatty and excited! A dream start to the day!
Nicola’s hair and make up was provided by Maidenhead based artist Sarah Thorne Make Up, who she met when they both trained at Brushstroke Make Up and Hair Academy in 2008. Once the hair and make up was all in place, the dress was put on, jewellery adorned, and the flowers had arrived, Nicola and her Dad Steve shared a moment together before they set off to the next venue, the charming Weybridge Registry Office.
Here Nicola and Ian had an intimate ceremony complete with happy tears (mostly Ian’s!), and a beautiful reading from The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, read by stepmum Jean.

The beaming pair then moved on to their DIY wedding reception venue at the Bisley Yurt at Miles Green Farm in Bisley, in a vintage VW camper van from McTrigg Campers.
And can we just talk about the flowers?? Oh my. Not only were the professional wedding bouquets and buttonholes (courtesy of wedding and event florist Laura Gooding), with their summer pinks, purples and oranges, absolutely incredible. Bu, can we take a minute to mention the efforts of Nicola and Ian themselves who grew ALL of the rest of the flowers at their allotment, with everything crossed that their dahlia collection would be peaking at the right time and wow, did they ever!!! Having done a little of this at our own wedding, we were so impressed at their efforts and the whole place looked amazing!
Nicola and Ian hired their canopy for their wedding breakfast from Flexitent Ltd and catering was provided by McLaren FIne Foods, run by a family friend, and providing the most talked about sweet treats and cakes of the summer was Sue Thayne! The drinks were provided by Bottoms Up Mobile Bar. We loved the intimate DIY feel of the whole day.
The friendliest photographer ever was the totally amazing Claire Wakefield Photography, a London and Surrey based wedding photographer, who also has a base in Leicestershire. Myself, Lisa and Claire were a dream team, capturing Nicola and Ian’s portraits in the flower filled fields of Miles Green Farm in Bisley, and even managed to get the farm’s horses involved, one of whom we coincidentally discovered was named Blue, completing Nicola’s ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’!
